HEALTHY BUSINESS ROUTINE

Routine is a part of life, and although that word can sometimes have a negative connotation (like when we fall into a rut and everything is always the same), in this blog we will deal with the good kind of routine – acquired habits that make our everyday life easier. The habits you create through regular repetition help you stay focused, productive, and get the most out of your work day. Routine provides the structure and continuity that you—and your clients and customers—rely on to operate effectively and efficiently. Business routines are absolutely necessary for a successful business, and what is even more important, for a lack of stress at work!

This is precisely why we have collected several routine tips for creating healthy business habits in this text.

Establish a regular work schedule

In the beauty world, this is easier said than done, since most salons work from morning to night and cannot afford a classic “9 to 5” day. But what you can do is establish a regular schedule in the form of smart planning of days and weeks. A common Excel table for you and your employees, with a detailed schedule of shifts and duties and ordered treatments will make it easier for everyone to plan their time throughout the day. Consider the treatments you order and allow yourself enough time for everything you need to do. Make sure your work schedule meets your needs and the needs of your employees and clients.

Take breaks!

Again, something that is easier said than done in our business, but don’t underestimate the power of a well-used break! Even on the craziest day, give yourself and your employees breaks from work. Both the body and the brain need them – drink enough water throughout the day, be sure to take a lunch break, do stretching exercises between treatments. After even 5 minutes of a smartly used break (let’s say, resting your eyes rather than staring at your cell phone! ), you will feel refreshed and ready for upcoming work.

Take care of business premises

It goes without saying that we are more productive in a clean and tidy space! It has been scientifically proven that a neat, clean and orderly work space actively increases work motivation, productivity and work efficiency. So don’t make it difficult for you to maintain your workspace. Of course, the salon must be clean and in accordance with all hygiene standards, and you are free to decorate it in your own “flavor”, the way that suits you and the way you think it would be comfortable for both employees and clients. Let the space exude a calm and relaxed atmosphere, and don’t forget to air it regularly!

Start each working day the same way

Create a routine to start the working day, before starting work. For example, you might make a coffee right after you arrive at the salon, take 10 minutes and read the latest news. Or you will take 20 minutes for a run before work, and come to the salon energetic and ready to work. Whatever your morning routine is, try to make it unrelated to work – make it your time before the start of the working day. Take as much as you need and create a morning habit that suits you best. This will help you start work every day in the best possible way, since before the start of your shift you will be doing something that suits you and relaxes you.

End each working day the same way

The same thing applies to the end of the working day – try to take 15 minutes at the end of each working day to check everything you have done and accomplished that day. Check your schedule again to see what awaits you tomorrow, whether you have any obligations that are not everyday and whether you need to do something extra. Find out where you are in the weekly plan and what else awaits you. This will calm the potential chaos in your head after a working day (especially if it was stressful and eventful), and will relax you and allow you to peacefully end the day and prepare for tomorrow.

As a conclusion, we will list only some of the benefits of creating business routines. They reduce our stress level, help in better functionality at the workplace, are healthier and help us sleep easier, and set a good example for others, especially employees. That’s why you should start today to create healthy business routines – positive results will definitely come
