The most frequent PMU questions and dilemmas

Although we have already written a lot about the most common dilemmas related to permanent makeup, in this blog we have decided to consolidate some of the most common questions about PMU treatments – mostly questions from clients.

As a beauty client, we want to have as much information as possible about the treatment we would like to do, so it is logical that clients will often have a lot of questions. We are certain that you know that the most important thing with clients is to be patient, to answer all questions in detail and to explain all procedures. In this way, a positive relationship between the client and the PMU artist is created, and trust is built. That’s how you create long-term loyal customers

Below are some of the most frequent questions from clients regarding permanent makeup, as well as short, informative and clear answers to them.

DOES IT HURT?

Perhaps the first question that a client who comes for the first PMU treatment will ask. And the answer is – no, it doesn’t hurt. With quality equipment, good technique and the use of anesthetics, most clients do not feel pain during the treatment. Each person is different, it is possible that some will feel a slight scratching or tightening, and others nothing at all. But pain is not in the repertoire.

WHO ARE PMU TREATMENTS RECOMMENDED FOR? WHO ARE THEY FOR?

There are no restrictions here. Whether you want to shorten the time you spend putting on makeup in the morning and save on makeup purchases, whether you are actively involved in sports and want to look good at the same time, or whether you just want to try it and see how you feel – PMU treatments are for everyone. They are also very suitable for people who want to increase, for example, the pigmentation of the lips due to pale or aged lips, improve the symmetry of the lips or eyebrows, cover up scars, draw eyebrows if you don’t have them, etc.

HOW LONG-LASTING ARE THE RESULTS?

Generally speaking, permanent makeup is permanent and will always be visible. But over time, of course, it fades, thanks to the renewal of skin cells, the influence of external factors and the like. Fading of permanent makeup varies from person to person.

DO I HAVE TO CHOOSE THE SHADE MYSELF?

Not. This is done by a PMU technician, an expert, after consulting with the client and studying the shade of the skin, that is, the phenotype. The choice of pigments is large, and pigments can always be mixed and combined.

CAN I STILL USE CLASSIC MAKEUP?

Of course. Not immediately after the treatment, then the skin should be allowed to rest, but the use of classic makeup is of course allowed.

HOW LONG DOES ONE TREATMENT LAST?

Depending on what is being done, but with the consultation, the sketch and the tattoo itself, the treatment lasts on average 1-1.5 hours.

ARE FINAL RESULTS IMMEDIATELY VISIBLE?

No. Immediately after the treatment, the color will be much more intense, whether it is on the lips, eyebrows or in the shower. Then there is a period of peeling, and after it passes, the skin will take on the target shade. Most Brow pigments that you can find on our webshop have a retention level of 60-80%, which means that the shade will ultimately be 20-40% lighter than immediately after the treatment.

IS THERE A SPECIAL AFTER CARE?

Yes, there are things that you should avoid immediately after the PMU treatment – direct exposure to the sun, training, sauna, sunbathing… After the treatment, every PMU specialist should give the client brief instructions about the activities that should be avoided immediately after the treatment.

ARE PMU TREATMENTS SAFE?

For most people, they are – if there are allergies to classic make-up, an allergy test with permanent make-up pigments should also be done. But if there are no allergies, PMU treatments are completely safe. With clean equipment, quality pigments and a good PMU specialist, everyone will feel one hundred percent safe
